Thursday 12th August - Battle of Flowers @ Weighbridge Place
We will be At the Craft Market at Weighbridge Place On Battle of Flowers day, so you can come and visit us either
before or after the day parade. Our shop in Colomberie will also be open from 10am till 6pm.
Our next Market after the battle will be at Weighbridge Place on Thursday 26th from 5pm till 8pm.
The Craft Markets at Weighbridge Place run every other Thursday throughout the Summer, their normal times are 5pm till
8pm except for Battle of Flowers & Battle of Britain when they run all day.
The Summer Holidays have arrived and we are running pop-in workshops!
Our Children's beading workshops are as popular as ever - they can make Bracelets, necklaces or even hair dangles, our new creation.
These can be made on a pony tail scrunchie or a clasp - and are then clipped onto hair slides etc. Or if you have a favourite hair
clasp just bring it along & you can make a dangle to tie onto it.
We are also running Ladies beading workshops where you can make bracelets, necklaces or earrings - great for mother & daughter to
spend some quality time together.
Our selection of beads & charms is bigger than ever - many items are only in the shop and not online!
Beading workshops are priced from £5.00 and you can find some ideas of what you can make in our
featured items.
We are still doing Soap Art workshops
So why not come along and paint a Soap - have it wrapped while you wait & take it away with you. These make great presents!
You will find examples of the Soaps you can paint in our
Art & Craft supplies section.
We also have our Top Hat & Tails workshop as described below, which is in kit form so it can be taken away if you prefer - you could even take
them to Howard Davis Park if the weather is nice!
Beads-N-Crafts Surprise box
Our surprise box is exactly what you need for a craft party or special outing.
The take away craft box has everything you'll need to keep the children amused - perfect for our unreliable climate
as the surprise box can be taken and used anywhere - the beach, the park, the garden or even in the living room!
Each box contains a variety of item for creative play and we have made sure that the box for the boys is just as interesting as the girls one.
The promotional price is £10.00 per box, although contents may vary from that shown here.
If you require more than 4 boxes please order in advance as we only keep a few in stock and make them to order as required.
Don't miss out on the latest news!

Top Hat & Tails Workshop
At the West Show, two years ago, we did a hat making workshop that was very successful as the children
loved walking around the showground wearing their creations.
We thought it would be great do it again this year, but made up differently, instead of the hats
being made up from strips of card then decorated.
Our new version is more practical as they will act as a sun hat. They are made from two cardboard discs with a
paper concertina middle, a bit like paper lantern decorations.
These are great fun because the centre
is flexible, when fully extended it is shaped like a Top Hat you can pull it up or down to create different
designs.
Each child will also have a bag full of decorating ideas, these will include stickers, gems, feathers,
tissue paper, pipe cleaners & ribbons.
I know for a fact that their creations will put my demo model to shame.
The West Show arrives at Beads N Crafts!
This year we are planning a carnival theme to our stand and the first bits for the workshops we are planning
have now arrived.
The next job is to get it all organised and to start making some samples for our
"Top Hat & Tails", "Charming Necklace", "Beaded Bracelet" and
"Hair Dangle" workshops.
We will be in the Childrens' Entertainment Marquee, like last time, but with brand new activities (and
colourful hats), as you can see. More about our planned activities will be revealed as the days pass
and the West Show grows nearer!
If you are planning to come to the show both days, why not pop in and see us in the shop since we
have got a book of weekend tickets which are being sold in blocks of 10 for £55
per block - a substantial saving if you want to take the whole family (or a large group of friends) to the show!
Stay tuned, because we'll post more information about what we'll be doing at the West Show very soon...

Hello bead fans!
Now that our new Bead Shop in St Helier is in full swing, we just wanted to post a quick update here to let you know that we are
hard at work bringing our website up-to-date.
Because we have been in the process of arranging our move from The Harbour Gallery (St Aubin) into St Helier for so long, our website has been
quite badly neglected - some of our best stock is missing, one or two of the items offered for sale are out of stock, there have been some
irritating glitches (most of which are now fixed) - and the information on our craft work shops was really quite old.
Today we've updated the information about our Beading Workshops, as
well as this short blog entry (our blog itself is due an update as the page is getting far too big, too). We've also removed a few of the
references to "The Harbour Gallery", so as to avoid any confusion - we're at 6 Colomberie Parade (naer Newton & Newton) now!
Please bear with us while we continue to get things in order - we'll keep posting updates here so you know whats going on and if you have any
questions at all, just drop us a line!
Phew! We're all worn out! But we've almost got a bead shop. At least. We've got a shop, in St Helier, with some beads in it -
does that count? The main problem is that we open in less than two weeks and it looks like this:
We have shelves! With stuff on them!
The rest of the bead shop is a bit full, though..
Sue & Mark look pretty chuffed..
.. and here are some of our great new Beads & Charms!
So there we are! We will be updating you again soon, but the big announcement about our official opening date
will be coming soon. If you want to find out before anyone else, you can
join our newsletter.
Once the shop is all sorted out, we will be doing some heavy website updates here and over at our partner site,
Jersey Market.
So, the next few days of our move from
The Harbour Gallery (St Aubin) to St Helier went pretty smoothly and
it's even beginning to look like a shop!
Apart from a few private bookings and functions we are not opening for a little while yet so still have plenty of time to get the rest
of the furniture organised and everything looking lovely for our customers to enjoy.
A few more pictures are below to show you how we've been getting on!
The outside is looking better - just needs a clean!
Quick! Someone call a locksmith and take that drill off Mark!
The counter isn't quite finished, but Susie is getting comfy already!
It has taken a lot longer than first anticipated, but finally, the move we talked about in our last blog entry is taking place. We are moving from
The Harbour Gallery (St Aubin) to our lovely
new shop in Colomberie, St Helier.
Over the coming days we will release a few more updates as we get the shop ready for it's grand opening (very exciting as this is the first time
we have had our own independant premises) as well as pictures of the shop as it starts to take shape. Once we are up and running again
we will be giving our website some much needed TLC, too.
In the meantime, here are a couple of pictures of the shop - poor quality as there is currently no lighting, plus it was raining outside. Please excuse
the bikes - we're waiting for them to be moved before our "official" moving in date!
The outside of our new bead shop!
Sue Chatterley and Mark Sallai in the Bead Shop!
Welcome to the newest part of our site - the official Beads N Crafts blog!
We'll be posting here when there is news to share with you - such as when new beads, charms or findings are put up on our site, or when
new "Mark Sallai fashion jewellery"
is available for sale.
As you may know, we are currently in the process of relocating our real world bead shop
into St Helier (here in Jersey), but thats not all! We are making changes to our website at the same time, so that we can provide our customers with
an even better service.
We will be discontinuing a lot of our Jersey Soap products
and moving the others to our sister site, Jersey Market, so that we
can focus Jersey Craft Shop on three main areas:
We will update our blog when we have more to report, but if you'd like us to let you know when that happens,
send us a message
so we can
add you to our newsletter!
